We were blessed in the late 1980’s when a young Blair Brodie knocked on our door and asked if we had given thought to our financial future! We had not! We were at a point, both of us employed, and both our daughters working, that the time was right! That very night Blair laid out monthly savings plans that secured and served us, and our financial futures, well over the years of many challenges for both ourselves and our daughters. Blair and his team, even with each change of staff, built on the strong foundation of the forerunners seamlessly, professionally and compassionately. They served our family well and always spoke in layman’s terms, which we appreciated.

Through good times we maximized. Through tough times of job loss, the death of one daughter resulting in guardianship/education of her daughter, our needs were timely and promptly served with compassion, skill and much appreciated friendship.  I’m not very “economically” minded and I have to admit that money matters don’t interest me very much. However, I do read the occasional article that someone sends me and I always read the pithy advice that Warren Buffet provides. Not only because he’s smarter than me and a billionaire, but because he seems astute and down to earth. One of his pieces of advice that I will never forget is to invest in relationships with honest and ethical people. People who seem generous and authentic.

I have a terrific lawyer who ticks the honest and ethical boxes, and she recommended three potential financial advisors to me. One was Blair. As I interviewed them, I soon realized that my financial person would know more about me than some of my friends. The relationship was going to be more intimate than I had anticipated. This is why I ultimately chose Blair–I felt really comfortable with him.
